Dai-Shihan Danny Waxman
Our teacher is Dai-Shihan (Budo-Taijutsu) Danny Waxman. Danny, born in 1936, Kibbutz Beit Alfa israel, was a student of Moshe Feldenkrais. Founder of the Feldenkrais Method. In his military service he served as a bodyguard of David Ben-Gurion. With his releasefrom the military service, in 1958, upon the recommendation of Moshe Feldenkrais, he traveled to Japan and began studying judo in the Kodokan in Tokyo, next to the Zen studies with Prof. Masunaga Reyho, one of the greatest teacher of Soto-Zen method in the 20th century. In the early 60s, after huge achievements and progress in judo, his friend from the Kodokan - Don Draeger- introduced him with Hatsumi Sensei (then Danny introdused between Doron Navon, who studied Kodokan Judo him, to Hatsumi Sensei) and became - along with Doron - the first of western disciples (after Quintin Chambers) oh Hatsumi Sensei.
Danny is a 6th dan in judo from the Kodokan, Zen teacher and a degree of Dai-Shihan in Budo-Taijutsu (Ninjutsu). Danny's work is characterized by high intensity, very high accuracy and very strong connection between body and soul. Danny's work is very Flow, with high emphasis on clean-technique, the uncompromising strikes precision and effectivness, alongside big emphasis on the let-go principle, minimalism, modesty and practicality.
