Articles

The articles on this site deal with subjects that accompany our training and our way at the dojo: Budo Taijutsu, combat and ninpō, and the history and culture of the Japanese martial arts.
Some deal with technique and training, others with concepts, history or the way of thinking behind the martial art, and also with the connection and mutual influence between our martial art and everyday life and the world we live in. Sometimes it is not easy to separate these, and perhaps it is not even necessary. A technique can lead to a question about the mind, a historical concept can change the way we understand training, and a principle learned in the dojo can turn out to be relevant outside it as well.
These articles are not meant to provide final answers, and they are certainly not gospel. They were written out of training, study and curiosity, and they reflect my understanding at the time they were written.
As I continue to train, learn, gain experience and perhaps even grow wiser, I hope my understanding changes too. So I may well return to old articles and change them, and perhaps in the future I will even write things that contradict something I wrote in the past.

In my view, this is not necessarily a problem. On the contrary: if after years of study I think exactly as I thought before, perhaps something in the learning process did not work.

So it is worth following along. Perhaps I will change my mind again in the future. 😉
